Our process
Structure. Modelling. Patina.
Our work follows a clear, proven process that combines creative freedom with technical precision. Every project typically moves through three core phases.
01 — Structure
Solid base, metal bars, mesh, anchors, beams and welded elements.
Every successful installation starts with a solid base. Depending on the type and scale of the project, we build a suitable internal structure from galvanised metal bars, mesh, anchors, beams and welded elements. This structure defines the shape of the installation and provides strength, stability and long-term durability.
For decorative façades, the structure can carry flat or ornamental surfaces. For artificial rockwork, the substructure is shaped more organically to create natural contours, crevices and three-dimensional rock formations.
Once the substructure is complete, a layer of mesh is fixed to it to create a reliable base for the first concrete layer.
02 — Modelling
Cement layers, hand modelling, textures, cracks, edges and natural forms.
In the modelling phase, cement layers are applied and shaped by hand using specialised tools, brushes and sculpting techniques. This is where the character of the installation starts to become visible.
The surface is carefully shaped while the material is still workable. This allows our specialists to create natural textures, cracks, edges, layering and organic forms that resemble real stone or natural rock formations.
The result is a sculptural surface that combines technical precision with artistic expression, ready for the final finish.
03 — Patina & surface finishing
Pigments, paints, spray and sponge techniques for depth and a natural effect.
The final visual identity emerges through patina, colour and surface finish. Using pigments, paints, brushes, sponges and spray techniques, we give the surfaces depth, contrast, shadow, highlights and natural colour nuances.
This finishing phase gives every project its realistic effect and a distinctive atmosphere.

The person behind GMart Solutions
Gustavo Mendes AzevedoFounder & artistic director
GMart Solutions is led by Gustavo Mendes — a specialist in scenic construction and artificial rockwork with over a decade of experience creating immersive environments for zoos, theme parks, resorts and themed destinations.
Trained in stage design and scenic production at the Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo (ACE) in Porto, he combines an artistic eye with craftsmanship and technical precision — from modelling and surface finishing to façades, artificial rock and immersive landscape features.
Over more than twelve years he has been involved in international projects — hotels, zoos, theme parks and themed attractions in numerous countries, including Gran Canaria, Punta Cana, Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria. Based in Austria, he now delivers projects for clients worldwide with GMart Solutions.

In partnership with FeinArt Walldesign, we combine wall design with hands-on craftsmanship. We bring FeinArt's designs and patterns to the wall in three dimensions with our own technique — from the idea to the finished, bespoke surface.
